Our client, a respected nonprofit organization in Kern County, is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all accounting and finance operations. Responsibilities

Lead all accounting and financial operations

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

Prepare monthly and annual financial statements

Present financial results to executive leadership and the Board

Ensure compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and nonprofit regulations

Manage the annual audit and tax filings

Develop and maintain strong internal controls

Monitor cash flow and organizational financial performance

Mentor and develop the accounting team

Identify and implement process improvements
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

CPA preferred
-
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

Previous leadership or management experience

Nonprofit accounting experience preferred

Experience with budgeting, audits, and financial reporting

Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls

Excellent communication and leadership skills
