Our client, a respected nonprofit organization in Kern County, is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee all accounting and finance operations. Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and financial operations

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements

  • Present financial results to executive leadership and the Board

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, grant requirements, and nonprofit regulations

  • Manage the annual audit and tax filings

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls

  • Monitor cash flow and organizational financial performance

  • Mentor and develop the accounting team

  • Identify and implement process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • CPA preferred

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience

  • Previous leadership or management experience

  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred

  • Experience with budgeting, audits, and financial reporting

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
