Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger.
- The Senior Accountant will lead month-end and year-end close processes, including complex account reconciliations.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- The Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed while providing guidance on accounting best practices.
- Support annual audits, tax preparation, and ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- The Senior Accountant will identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Accountant Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ERP experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a collaborative team environment.
