Accounting Operations Specialist Responsibilities
- The Accounting Operations Specialist will process daily ACH transactions, exceptions, returns, and ACH originations.
- Review and process share draft exceptions while serving as a point of contact for member inquiries related to ACH and share draft services.
- Process wire transfers, legal notices, levies, and other financial transactions in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- The Accounting Operations Specialist will prepare general ledger reconciliations, research discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities while supporting the accounting team.
- The Accounting Operations Specialist will cross-train on departmental functions and provide operational support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications for the Accounting Operations Specialist Role
- 3+ years of accounting, banking, credit union, or financial operations experience.
- Credit union or banking experience preferred but not required.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and communicate effectively with members, vendors, and internal teams.
