Assistant Property Controller

Location: North Lauderdale, FL

Salary Range:

  • $90,000 – 100,000 (no managerial experience)
  • $100,000 – 120,000 (managerial experience in accounting)

Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Controller:

  • Support full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for retail properties
  • Analyze and interpret commercial leases, including input into accounting systems
  • Manage CAM reconciliations, tenant billing, and property-level financial accuracy
  • Assist with monthly and annual close, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Oversee tenant receivables, collections, and expense review/coding
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies

Qualifications for the Assistant Controller:

  • 1+ years of commercial property accounting experience
  • Experience with CAM reconciliations and lease structures such as NNN leases
  • Proficiency in real estate accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, or RealPage preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to manage detailed financial data
