Project Accounting Manager

Are you an accounting professional who enjoys digging into project financials, improving cash flow, and helping a growing business operate more efficiently? We’re looking for a Project Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function for a project-based organization while mentoring a small team and partnering with leadership.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with WIP (Work-in-Progress), percentage of completion, and job costing experience who wants to make a visible impact on the business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead cash flow management, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and percentage of completion accounting.
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and project financial reporting.
- Supervise and develop a team of two accounting professionals.
- Lead the monthly close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare reports and financial insights for executive leadership and the Board.
- Analyze processes, improve efficiencies, and identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation.
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate project costing and financial performance.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a project-based environment.
- Experience with WIP accounting, percentage of completion, and job costing.
- Strong understanding of cash flow management and financial reporting.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting software.
- A collaborative, hands-on leader who enjoys solving problems and improving processes
