Location: St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid)

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000

Key Responsibilities for the Controller:

  • Lead all grant accounting, reporting, and compliance activities across a diverse portfolio of federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Own the month-end and year-end close process, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and general ledger oversight.
  • Partner closely with HR and operational leaders to ensure accurate payroll accounting, cost allocations, and grant reimbursement tracking.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team while coordinating efforts with external accounting partners and resources.
  • Serve as the organization’s hands-on accounting leader, overseeing daily financial operations, MIP administration, board reporting, cash management, and annual budget planning.

Qualifications for the Controller:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Strong nonprofit accounting and grant accounting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with MIP Accounting Software preferred; Sage Intacct experience may be considered.
  • Prior experience leading and supervising accounting staff.
  • Experience with government-funded grants and reimbursement reporting.
