About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the Niles, Mi area, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance function. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, cost accounting, cash management, and partnering with operations to support business decisions.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, variances, and profitability.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Coordinate annual audits and support tax compliance activities.
- Partner with operations and executive leadership to improve financial performance and operational efficiencies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Support ERP enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Manufacturing accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
