Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the firm’s day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all accounting functions
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, account reconciliations, and financial analyses
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, client billing, cash management, and general ledger activities
- Support payroll processing and related accounting functions
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Maintain accurate financial records and support annual audits and tax preparation
- Assist with trust accounting and trust reconciliation activities in accordance with legal industry requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience overseeing the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, financial reporting, AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, financial reporting, and data analysis
- Experience within a law firm or other professional services environment is highly preferred
- Trust accounting experience is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
