Controller
Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of one of its premier properties in Long Grove. This is a highly visible role responsible for the full property accounting cycle, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong property or hospitality accounting experience and enjoy owning the financials for a location while partnering closely with operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities for the Controller
Property Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage the full-cycle accounting process for the property
- Oversee month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain financial accuracy
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Budgeting & Analysis
- Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Monitor financial performance and analyze variances
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to operational leadership
- Support strategic planning and business decision-making
Financial Operations
- Oversee daily accounting activities and financial controls
- Maintain accurate records and support audit requests
- Partner with property leadership to improve financial performance
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Qualifications for the Controller
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience managing the full accounting cycle
- Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience
- Budgeting and forecasting experience
- Strong Excel and accounting systems proficiency
Preferred:
- Hospitality accounting experience
- Property management accounting experience
- Experience supporting hotels, golf properties, resorts, clubs, or multi-site operations
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience
