INTERIM CONTROLLER
Location: Elkhart, IN | Onsite
We are seeking an experienced Controller to step into a hands-on role and keep day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can quickly learn an established process, work independently, and partner with leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement review
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and ensure reports reconcile to the ERP
- Review inventory and cost of goods sold, partnering with Purchasing as needed
- Review and post weekly payroll activity from ADP
- Oversee accounts payable, review invoices and approve items for weekly check runs
- Provide oversight of accounts receivable and collections
- Track fixed assets and capital projects, including assets/projects in progress
- Assist with year-end close and coordinate information and questions with the outside accounting firm
- Complete and finalize the annual budget using an established Excel-based budgeting model
- Prepare financial information and reporting needed for banking and renewal requirements
- Research discrepancies and resolve accounting or reporting issues as they arise
Qualifications
- Previous Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior-level accounting experience
- Strong hands-on month-end close and financial reporting experience
- Experience working within an ERP system
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to step into an existing accounting environment and quickly take ownership of processes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies
Preferred
- NetSuite experience
- ADP experience
- Experience with inventory and COGS in a product or manufacturing environment
- Experience working with outside auditors/accounting firms and year-end reporting
