Senior Accountant Responsibilities
-
Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are accurate and complete
-
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
-
Support month-end and year-end close processes
-
Assist with financial reporting and compliance requirements
-
Analyze revenue, expenditures, and balance sheet accounts
-
Perform system balancing activities and resolve discrepancies
-
Provide accounting guidance to internal stakeholders
-
Assist with audits and prepare supporting schedules and documentation
-
Provide training and technical assistance on accounting procedures and financial systems
-
Participate in financial system testing, upgrades, and implementation activities
-
Collaborate with departments to improve processes and strengthen internal controls
Senior Accountant Qualifications
-
5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit
-
Experience with detailed financial analysis and large data sets
-
Government Administration experience

Education or government background strongly preferred
-
Knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting practices, financial reporting, and internal controls

Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and audits
-
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment
Salary Range
$80,000-$98,000
