$140,000–$160,000 + Discretionary Bonus
A stable, growing company in the Shelton area is looking for a hands-on Controller to take ownership of its accounting and finance function. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Controller or a strong Accounting Manager ready to take the next step into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities Controller
- Lead the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company
- Oversee the general ledger and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Manage month-end close, account reconciliations, and inventory costing
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, AP, AR, and payroll
- Lead and develop the accounting team
- Coordinate the annual audit and support tax and compliance requirements
- Oversee quarterly physical inventory and standard costing
- Partner with leadership on forecasting, reporting, and business decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
Qualifications of the Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Progressive accounting experience with supervisory or management responsibility
- Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge
- Advanced Excel skills
- Annual audit experience required
- Inventory and/or costing experience preferred
- Sage 100 experience is a plus
- Tax or public accounting experience is a plus
- Consumer products, retail, or experience working with major retailers is a plus
- Power BI experience is a plus
- CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required
