Senior Accountant
Location: New Haven, CT
Schedule: Full-time, 8:30-4:30PM
Pay: $37–$40/hour
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support a New Haven-area organization. This role will focus heavily on month-end close, reconciliations, and general accounting support. The ideal candidate will be comfortable jumping into an established accounting environment and working independently.
Responsibilities:
• Support the month-end close process
• Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations
• Handle daily banking activities and related reconciliations
• Manage credit card payments and reconciliations
• Provide Accounts Payable support, including check runs and coverage as needed
• Assist with general ledger accounting activities
• Complete Excel-based reconciliations and accounting schedules
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong month-end close experience
• Hands-on balance sheet reconciliation experience
• Accounts Payable experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to work independently and quickly get up to speed
