Key Responsibilities for the Vice President of Tax
- Oversee federal and state income tax returns, sales tax filings, property tax filings, and escheat reporting.
- Manage tax audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries.
- Review tax implications related to acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring activities.
- Lead tax planning, tax provisions, deferred taxes, and compliance initiatives.
- Maintain tax controls, exemption filings, reporting calendars, and department procedures.
Qualifications for the Vice President of Tax
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation required; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA certification required.
- 7-10+ years of progressive tax experience with leadership and supervisory responsibility.
- Experience with multi-entity organizations, trust taxation, tax-exempt organizations, and OneSource, BNA, or CCH preferred.
