HR Manager – Manufacturing
Location: Wabash, Indiana
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Salary: $90,000–$110,000
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and support a manufacturing workforce in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment. This is a highly visible opportunity for an HR professional with 5+ years of experience leading HR teams within manufacturing who can balance day-to-day employee relations with long-term people and process initiatives.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, highly detail oriented, and passionate about process improvement, with the ability to partner closely with leadership and employees at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the HR function, providing hands-on support across employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning.

Partner with manufacturing leadership to align HR strategies with operational goals and workforce needs.

Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, addressing employee relations matters, coaching leaders, and resolving workplace concerns.

Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, policies, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency and employee engagement.

Manage recruiting, onboarding, retention, training, and development initiatives for the manufacturing workforce.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.

Analyze HR metrics and workforce trends to identify opportunities for improvement and support data-driven decision-making.

Lead and support performance management, disciplinary processes, attendance initiatives, and employee engagement efforts.

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records while ensuring a high level of attention to detail.

Partner with leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

5+ years of progressive HR experience within a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated experience leading an HR team or function in a plant/manufacturing setting.

Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.

Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements within HR.

Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Strong understanding of employment laws, HR compliance, and manufacturing workforce practices.

Ability to build strong relationships with both hourly and salaried employees.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is a plus.
