Family Office Tax Accountant Position Overview
We are seeking a Family Office Tax Accountant to support the tax, accounting, and financial affairs of ownership and related entities. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working with high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and closely held businesses while providing a combination of tax, financial reporting, and family office support. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
Responsibilities for Family Office Tax Accountant
- Prepare individual, trust, partnership, and business tax returns, along with supporting workpapers and schedules.
- Assist with tax planning, projections, estate planning initiatives, and analysis of tax implications related to financial decisions.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting records for multiple entities.
- Monitor cash activity, coordinate transfers, and assist with financial reporting for ownership and related entities.
- Collaborate with CPAs, attorneys, investment advisors, and financial institutions to gather and manage financial information.
- Support special projects involving personal finances, investments, and business interests.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling financial and tax information.
Qualifications for Family Office Tax Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting, tax, or public accounting experience.
- Experience with individual, trust, partnership, and business tax returns preferred.
- Strong understanding of tax compliance, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- CPA is a plus but not required.
