Key Responsibilities for the Director of Internal Audit:
- Build the Internal Audit team, charter, policies, and methodology.
- Conduct enterprise risk assessments and develop risk-based audit plans.
- Oversee financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits.
- Evaluate internal controls, SOX readiness, and remediation efforts.
- Present audit findings and risk exposure to executive leadership.
Qualifications for the Director of Internal Audit:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent certification.
- 10+ years of dedicated Internal Audit experience and 5+ years of leadership experience.
- 5+ years leading Internal Audit teams/functions.
- Expertise in financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits, enterprise risk assessments, GAAP, SOX, and COSO.
- Advanced Excel skills.
