Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Specialist
- Monitor open purchase orders, vendor confirmations, and delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive on time for production requirements.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers regarding order status, lead times, backorders, and shipment updates.
- Coordinate with internal departments including Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, and Production to resolve material-related issues and prevent delays.
- Maintain accurate information within ERP/MRP systems, including delivery dates, tracking information, and vendor communications.
- Assist with receiving discrepancies, documentation review, and supply chain problem resolution to support uninterrupted operations.
Qualifications for the Purchasing Specialist
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement coordination, material expediting, supply chain, or a related function.
- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems; Sage X3 experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data tracking and reporting functions.
