Accountant Responsibilities

The Accountant will primarily focus on Accounts Payable while supporting general accounting functions and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities include:

  • Process a high volume of invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approvals, and timely payment

  • Process employee expense reports and ensure expenses are properly coded and documented

  • Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items

  • The Accountant will maintain organized vendor records and ensure accurate general ledger coding

  • Support month-end close activities, including AP reporting, accruals, and account reconciliations

  • The Accountant will assist with general accounting functions and financial reporting as needed

  • Partner with internal departments to research and resolve invoice, vendor, expense report, and payment issues

  • Ensure transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with internal policies and accounting standards

Qualifications of the Accountant Role

  • Strong Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment

  • Previous experience processing employee expense reports required

  • Previous accounting experience with knowledge of general ledger processes and reconciliations

  • Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system required

  • Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
