A professional services organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee general ledger, audit, and tax activities while managing day‑to‑day accounting operations. This role leads a small accounting team and ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:
- Manage the general ledger and month‑end/year‑end close processes
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Oversee trust accounting and daily cash flow management
- Manage banking relationships and bank reconciliations
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors and coordinate annual audits
- Oversee tax compliance and coordinate filings with external advisors
- Supervise accounting staff, including payroll and accounts payable
- Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Identify and implement process and system improvements
Preferred Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or CPA‑eligible preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior people management experience preferred
- Professional services experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, audits, and taxation
