Accounting Manager
Retail / Distribution | Baltimore, MD (Hybrid)
Compensation: Up to $125,000
I’m currently partnering with a well-established retail and distribution company in the Baltimore area that is looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their team. This is a hybrid position with strong visibility to leadership and an opportunity to play a key role in a NetSuite-based accounting environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Manage and develop a small accounting team (AP/AR and/or Staff Accountants)
- Serve as the NetSuite subject matter expert and drive process improvements
- Handle inventory accounting, COGS, and revenue recognition
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to support the business
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audits and compliance
- Help strengthen controls and scale accounting processes as the company grows
What They’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA is a plus)
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands-on NetSuite experience required
- Background in retail, distribution, or inventory-driven businesses preferred
- Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong GAAP knowledge and attention to detail
- Solid Excel and system skills
