Accounts Payable Specialist
Salary: $55,000-$62,500/year
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and vendor communications. The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist thrives in a fast-paced environment and maintains a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume invoices accurately and efficiently as an Accounts Payable Specialist
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts
- Ensure proper coding and approval of invoices in accordance with company policies
- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address payment inquiries
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar position
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working as an Accounts Payable Specialist in a high-volume environment
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
