AR Clerk
Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 DOE
A well-established distribution and logistics company serving customers throughout California is expanding its accounting team in Bakersfield. This position plays an important role in supporting the company’s cash flow and customer relationships by ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, and account maintenance. The Opportunity
This role exists to support a growing accounts receivable function as transaction volume continues to increase across multiple customer accounts. The AR Clerk will take ownership of day-to-day receivables activities, including invoicing, payment application, account reconciliation, and collections support.
You’ll work closely with accounting leadership, customer service teams, and operational departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency throughout the billing process. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys problem solving, maintaining organized records, and being a key contributor to the financial health of the business.
What You’ll Do
• Process customer invoices and ensure billing accuracy in accordance with company procedures
• Apply incoming payments and maintain accurate customer account records
• Review accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies to resolution
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports and maintaining documentation
What We’re Looking For
• 2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or related accounting experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working within an ERP or accounting system
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience within distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment is preferred
