AI Consultant
Position Overview
A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced AI Consultant to provide hands-on training, workflow optimization, and Microsoft 365 Copilot enablement across multiple business functions. This is a 100% onsite opportunity for a professional who can bridge the gap between technology and day-to-day operations, helping teams reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and unlock greater value from AI tools.
The AI Consultant will work directly with users to assess current processes, deliver practical training programs, identify automation opportunities, and establish repeatable AI-powered workflows. The ideal candidate is both a strategic advisor and an effective trainer who can make AI accessible to non-technical users.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead AI Consultant for Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption and workflow enhancement initiatives.
- Design and deliver practical, workflow-focused AI training sessions for business users across departments.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency through AI-enabled solutions.
- Train teams on consolidating data from multiple sources, generating insights, and creating clear, meaningful reports.
- Provide guidance on AI-assisted reporting for campaign performance, surveys, operational metrics, and business outcomes.
- Develop training programs focused on Excel automation, including:
- Formulas and functions
- Data filtering and organization
- Pivot tables and data analysis
- Reporting automation
- Summarization and insight generation
- Educate users on Microsoft Teams and Copilot capabilities related to:
- Meeting summaries
- Action item creation
- Note-taking automation
- Follow-up task management
- Teach effective prompting techniques, including context setting, prompt refinement, and output optimization.
- Create reusable AI workflows, custom instructions, and AI agents to support recurring business processes.
- Partner with stakeholders to prioritize use cases and develop practical adoption strategies.
- Act as a trusted AI Consultant and advisor throughout the organization’s AI maturity journey.
Core Competencies & Skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI productivity tools.
- Proven background delivering user training, workshops, or organizational technology adoption programs.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, data analysis, formulas, and pivot tables.
- Experience identifying and automating business processes through AI solutions.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering best practices and AI workflow design.
- Ability to create custom AI agents, reusable prompts, and standardized operating procedures.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business applications.
- Experience supporting marketing, operations, reporting, or data-driven business functions is highly preferred.
Preferred AI Consultant Qualifications
- Prior consulting experience in AI transformation, digital productivity, or process improvement initiatives.
- Experience implementing Microsoft 365 solutions within nonprofit, mission-driven, or service-oriented organizations.
- Familiarity with change management and user adoption best practices.
- Demonstrated success helping organizations increase productivity through AI-enabled workflows.
