Bookkeeper/ Senior Accountant
Location: Westminster, CO (Onsite)
Schedule: Hybrid Work Schedule, Monday–Friday
Salary: $85k-$95k
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of the month-end close process, and thrives in a fast-paced organization.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing financial statements, supporting audits, and partnering with leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & General Accounting of Senior Accountant:
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial results and investigate account variances.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules.
Month-End Close & Analysis for Senior Accountant:
- Lead assigned month-end close responsibilities to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Develop financial analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Compliance & Audit for Senior Accountant:
- Support annual financial audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
- Assist with tax preparation by compiling documentation for external CPA firms.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, GAAP, and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation.
Collaboration
- Partner with operations and department leaders to support financial reporting and business initiatives.
- Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior accounting staff as needed and provide support across the accounting team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) preferred.
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
