Key Responsibilities of the Cash Application Specialist:
- Apply ACH, wire, check, and credit card payments accurately to customer accounts.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash.
- Reconcile customer accounts and use Excel to identify and correct out-of-balance transactions.
- Proactively research customer accounts and follow up for missing remittance information.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
- Maintain accurate cash application records and identify opportunities to improve processes.
Qualifications of the Cash Application Specialist:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of cash application, AR, or related experience.
- Strong Excel skills required, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables.
- ERP experience, particularly JDE, is a plus.
