About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a Collections Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is responsible for managing business-to-business (B2B) collections, maintaining positive customer relationships, and helping to improve cash flow through timely collection of outstanding receivables.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or business services environment and be comfortable communicating with customers regarding payment status, account discrepancies, and outstanding balances.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of business-to-business customer accounts and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Contact customers regarding past-due balances via phone and email while maintaining professional relationships.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, short pays, deductions, and billing issues.
- Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to improve cash flow.
- Collaborate with customer service, sales, and accounting teams to resolve payment delays.
- Document collection activities, customer communications, and payment commitments.
- Assist with account reconciliations and other accounts receivable functions as needed.
Requirements
- Previous collections, accounts receivable, or credit and collections experience.
- Business-to-business (B2B) collections experience preferred.
- Experience reviewing aging reports and resolving outstanding balances.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to maintain professionalism while handling difficult collection conversations.

Compensation: $44,720 – $48,800 Annual Salary ($21.50 – $23.46/hour)
