Collections Team Lead

Fully Remote | Full-Time | 9am-5:30pm ET

Pay Range: $52,000 – $62,000

Key Responsibilities of the Collections Team Lead

  • Oversee and support daily servicing activities across medical receivable and premium servicing portfolios

  • Monitor portfolio queues to ensure accounts are handled according to established procedures and compliance requirements

  • Provide daily coaching, guidance, and support to collections and servicing team members

  • Monitor team KPIs, including contact and compliance percentages, and help establish goals for continued improvement

  • Coordinate provider status updates, case servicing lists, database entries, lien package tracking, and related activities

  • Review and provide guidance on additional funding requests, case exceptions, lien packages, problem removals, and escalated write-off requests

  • Perform quality assurance reviews and support internal compliance audits

  • Help ensure provider data entry and case management activities remain HIPAA compliant

  • Create targeted focus lists and projects to improve productivity and portfolio outcomes

  • Coordinate daily and weekly priorities and communicate expectations to team members

  • Partner with Accounting and Customer Success on reconciliations, law firm assistance, and other portfolio needs

  • Assist with company compliance audits and special projects as needed

Leadership & Team Development

As the Collections Team Lead, you’ll serve as a go-to resource for the team while helping create a collaborative and accountable work environment.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members

  • Assist with onboarding and annual refresher training

  • Organize monthly team meetings and prepare meeting agendas

  • Coordinate monthly one-on-one meetings with team members

  • Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Portfolio Management

  • Attend Team Lead meetings and contribute to department initiatives

  • Provide scheduling and coverage support across servicing teams as needed

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and team performance

Reporting & Performance Management

The Collections Team Lead will also help leadership understand team performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Utilize Power BI to compile and present case entry and team performance reports

  • Utilize Pyrus to prepare and present compliance reporting

  • Provide weekly updates regarding contact and servicing success

  • Present weekly audit results to Portfolio Management leadership

  • Track KPIs and identify performance trends, gaps, and opportunities

  • Support monthly reporting and portfolio servicing reviews

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, Economics, or a related field

  • Minimum of one year of team lead, supervisory, or leadership experience

  • Legal industry experience is a plus, particularly within personal injury litigation

  • Strong customer service experience required

  • Experience working within compliance-driven processes or case management environments is a plus
