Controller (Promotional Path to CFO)

Location: Eau Claire, WI (Onsite)
Compensation: $110K–$180K + Incentive Plan

This is a unique opportunity to join a strong leadership team with a defined succession plan to CFO as part of a planned transition within the next year. The role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and the ability to influence both financial strategy and operational decision-making.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including financial reporting and close processes
  • Partner closely with the CFO on strategic initiatives, forecasting, and planning
  • Support regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Provide insight into financial performance and help drive business decisions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership across the organization
  • Play a key role in preparing for a seamless CFO transition

What We’re Looking For

  • CPA required
  • Background in public accounting (financial institution clients strongly preferred)
  • Experience within banking or financial institutions (or strong exposure through audit)
  • Progressive accounting leadership experience (Controller, Assistant Controller, or similar)
  • Strong technical accounting foundation with a desire to grow into a strategic leadership role
