Position Title: Controller
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Onsite with flexibility)
Compensation: 100,000-120,000
Controller Position Summary
Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead daily accounting operations and provide financial leadership for a growing organization. This role will oversee accounting staff, drive month-end close activities, support intercompany accounting, and help strengthen internal processes while serving as a key partner to company leadership.
Controller Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor accounting team members across AP, AR, and general accounting functions
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Oversee financial reporting and account reconciliations
- Perform and review intercompany reconciliations
- Manage foreign currency transactions and exchange rate accounting
- Ensure accurate cash, balance sheet, and income statement reporting
- Develop and improve accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with leadership on special projects and strategic initiatives
- Support audit, tax, and compliance requirements
- Drive process improvements and increased use of ERP functionality
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong SAP experience is a MUST
- Experience managing month-end close
- Knowledge of intercompany accounting and reconciliations
- Understanding of foreign currency transactions and exchange rates
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
