Location: Michigan City, Indiana
Schedule: Full-Time | Fully Onsite
Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to join our leadership team in Michigan City, Indiana. This fully onsite position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with a proven track record of financial leadership, process improvement, and building high-performing teams. The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and partner with executive leadership to support business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including the month-end and year-end close processes, general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Prepare and present timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and improve reporting accuracy.

Develop, mentor, and lead the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making support.

Oversee annual audits, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.

Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key business metrics while recommending opportunities for continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

MBA and/or CPA preferred.

Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.

Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and month-end close.

Demonstrated success implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.

Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop accounting staff.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively partner with executives and cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working within ERP/accounting systems.
