Controller

• Lead the full finance and accounting function with direct influence on organizational strategy and decision-making.
• Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership on financial planning, forecasting, and operational initiatives.
• Oversee a broad scope including accounting, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen financial systems, controls, and reporting capabilities.
• Manage and develop a high-performing finance team while shaping the future direction of the department.

• Lead accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting operations.
• Oversee the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), annual audit, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, internal controls, and applicable governmental regulations.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic recommendations.
• Develop and mentor finance staff while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA designation required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including ACFR and GASB expertise.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams; public sector, utility, or governmental experience preferred.
