Walkerton, Indiana | Fully Onsite | $100,000–$130,000 DOE

We are seeking an accomplished Controller to join a growing organization and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This is a hands-on leadership position for an accounting professional who can manage the day-to-day accounting function while also providing the strategic financial vision and direction needed to support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the company’s accounting and finance functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to executive leadership, helping drive informed business decisions.
  • Develop and execute the organization’s long-term financial strategy in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Oversee accounting operations and ensure strong controls, processes, and compliance across the organization.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends and risks, and provide recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and overall financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes and establish meaningful financial metrics and KPIs.
  • Partner with operations and other departments to improve processes, manage costs, and support organizational growth.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while establishing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, reporting, and overall financial infrastructure as the company continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to lead an accounting function while remaining comfortable being hands-on in the numbers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with executive leadership and operational teams.
  • Experience leading and developing accounting professionals.
  • Ability to think strategically while maintaining strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
