Key Responsibilities
- Monitor job margins by comparing actual costs to expected costs and investigate material, labor, and manufacturing overhead variances
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to ensure accurate cost allocation, overhead recovery, and financial reporting
- Monitor inventory levels, oversee inventory valuation, and support physical inventory counts and inventory analysis
- Support month-end close, journal entries, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Partner with operations and leadership to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong background in manufacturing cost accounting
- Experience with job costing, inventory accounting, absorption accounting, and overhead recovery rates
- Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience; SAP or Syspro experience is a plus
- CPA or CMA (or active pursuit of either designation) is highly preferred
