We’re Hiring: Director of Accounting
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 base + excellent benefits

We’re partnering with a respected nonprofit to hire a Director of Accounting —a newly created leadership role designed to bring together two critical functions and drive organizational excellence.
Reporting directly to the SVP of Finance, this role offers the opportunity to lead, influence, and transform how accounting and billing operate across the organization, while supporting a meaningful mission.

What You’ll Do
As Director of Accounting, you’ll play both a strategic and hands-on leadership role, including:
- Lead and develop the Accounting and Billing teams through two Associate Directors
- Provide strategic direction while staying connected to day-to-day operations
- Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and billing operations
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP and federal funding requirements
- Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and organizational initiatives
- Support audits, cash management, and risk mitigation efforts
- Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, automation, and AI adoption
- Build a high-performing, coaching-focused culture that emphasizes collaboration and development
What You Bring as Director of Accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven people leadership experience in complex or multi-entity environments
- Strong background in accounting leadership, with exposure to billing or revenue cycle operations
- Experience in a large nonprofit or similarly complex organization preferred
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred)
- CPA and/or experience with healthcare, Medicaid, or government-funded programs is a plus
