Key Responsibilities for the Director of Internal Audit:
  • Build the Internal Audit team, charter, policies, and methodology.
  • Conduct enterprise risk assessments and develop risk-based audit plans.
  • Oversee financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate internal controls, SOX readiness, and remediation efforts.
  • Present audit findings and risk exposure to executive leadership.
Qualifications for the Director of Internal Audit:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent certification.
  • 10+ years of dedicated Internal Audit experience and 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • 5+ years leading Internal Audit teams/functions.
  • Expertise in financial, operational, IT, and compliance audits, enterprise risk assessments, GAAP, SOX, and COSO.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
