Grant Accountant Responsibilities:

  • The Grant Accountant will manage accounts receivable activities, including payment posting, reconciliations, and aging analysis
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned grant portfolios
  • Monitor grant revenue, drawdowns, and reimbursements to ensure accurate and timely cash flow
  • The Grant Accountant will perform budget-to-actual analyses and investigate financial variances
  • Support grant compliance requirements, reporting deadlines, and audit preparation
  • Collaborate with accounting staff, program managers, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • The Grant Accountant will research and resolve discrepancies related to grant funding, financial data, and reporting
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to grant accounting

Preferred Qualifications of the Grant Accountant Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including accounts receivable, financial reporting, and general ledger activities
  • Experience preparing financial statements and supporting month-end close
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Grant accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Acumatica or other ERP systems is a plus
  • Nonprofit, government, or multi-funding source experience is a plus
