We’re partnering with a growing, mid-sized construction company in the DTC area seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to step in and keep operations running smoothly during a temporary coverage period. What You’ll Do
- Act as the go-to HR partner for employees and managers, providing day-to-day guidance and support
- Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching conversations, investigations, and documentation
- Support performance management and disciplinary processes with consistency and professionalism
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state workforce
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
- Maintain accurate and organized employee records and HR documentation
- Collaborate with leadership to address evolving HR needs across the business
- Assist with leave administration and general HR operations as needed
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
- Strong background in employee relations and navigating sensitive situations
- Ability to work independently and quickly adapt in an active, fast-moving environment
- Solid knowledge of multi-state employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Sound judgment and professionalism when handling confidential matters
Bonus Points For
- Experience in construction, environmental services, or other field-based industries
- Background supporting a distributed or multi-state workforce
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Paylocity preferred)
- HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR)
