We’re partnering with a growing, mid-sized construction company in the DTC area seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to step in and keep operations running smoothly during a temporary coverage period. What You’ll Do

  • Act as the go-to HR partner for employees and managers, providing day-to-day guidance and support
  • Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching conversations, investigations, and documentation
  • Support performance management and disciplinary processes with consistency and professionalism
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across a multi-state workforce
  • Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle changes
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee records and HR documentation
  • Collaborate with leadership to address evolving HR needs across the business
  • Assist with leave administration and general HR operations as needed

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
  • Strong background in employee relations and navigating sensitive situations
  • Ability to work independently and quickly adapt in an active, fast-moving environment
  • Solid knowledge of multi-state employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Sound judgment and professionalism when handling confidential matters

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in construction, environmental services, or other field-based industries
  • Background supporting a distributed or multi-state workforce
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Paylocity preferred)
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR)
