Key Responsibilities of the Legal Billing Specialist
- Own the end-to-end appeals process for billing disputes across 25 legal ebilling platforms, ensuring deadlines are met and revenue is recovered
- Liaise with attorneys and internal teams to address billing reductions, clarify time entries, and secure necessary approvals or revisions
- Maintain efficient documentation and tracking to meet strict client guidelines and reporting requirements
- Support process improvement and knowledge sharing within the billing and accounting team
- Drive positive client relationships through proactive communication and problem resolution
Requirements of the Legal Billing Specialist
- At least intermediate Excel proficiency within a professional setting
- Relevant work history in legal billing, claims appeals, legal secretary, or paralegal roles OR demonstrated ability to learn complex systems/processes quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to interface with cross-functional teams
