A well-established and growing organization is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across multiple entities. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to oversee key payroll functions, manage a direct report, and play a critical role in ensuring accuracy and compliance within a dynamic environment.

Position Overview

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for approximately 300 employees across the company’s largest entities. This role requires hands-on payroll expertise, particularly in union payroll environments, and the ability to manage complex payroll components including dues, garnishments, and bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and oversee weekly payroll for ~300 employees across multiple entities
  • Manage union payroll, including tracking and processing union dues
  • Ensure accurate handling of garnishments, bonuses, and deductions
  • Oversee electronic timekeeping systems and ensure data integrity
  • Supervise and mentor 1 direct report
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and union payroll regulations
  • Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and reporting
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with union payroll experience strongly preferred
  • Experience processing weekly, high-volume payroll
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, compliance, and reporting
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
