Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Manager:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 1,000+ employees, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery across the organization.
  • Oversee payroll compliance, payroll tax filings, audits, and regulatory requirements while maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
  • The Payroll Manager will administer complex compensation programs, including commissions, bonuses, retroactive pay, stipends, and other variable earnings.
  • Lead payroll-related leave and compliance programs, including workers’ compensation, FMLA, and other employee leave administration processes.
  • Leverage advanced Excel reporting, analytics, and reconciliations to ensure payroll accuracy, identify trends, and support business decision-making.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to enhance payroll operations, drive process improvements, and support system implementations, including UKG.

Qualifications for the Payroll Manager:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience supporting large, multi-location employee populations, with experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of payroll compliance, payroll tax regulations, workers’ compensation, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with demonstrated experience in reporting, reconciliations, data analysis, and payroll auditing.
  • Proven ability to manage complex payroll environments involving commissions, bonuses, variable compensation, retroactive pay, and other non-standard earnings.
  • Experience identifying process improvement opportunities and driving operational efficiencies within payroll functions.
  • Experience with UKG, HRIS platforms, payroll system implementations, or payroll technology upgrades strongly preferred.
