Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Specialist:
• Own bi‑weekly, multi‑state payroll processing for approximately 600 employees
• Manage timekeeping imports, payroll previews, reconciliations, and final submissions
• Oversee payroll tax compliance, garnishments, deductions, and municipal tax setups
• Maintain payroll data accuracy in UKG, including audits and system validations
• Prepare payroll journal entries and partner with accounting on GL accuracy
• Serve as the primary payroll point of contact for employees, HR, and leadership
Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist:
• 4+ years of in‑house payroll experience with end‑to‑end processing responsibility
• Proven experience running multi‑state payroll, including local and municipal taxes
• Hands‑on experience with payroll systems (UKG strongly preferred)
• Strong Excel skills for reconciliation, reporting, and variance analysis
