About the Role

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team and oversee accurate, timely payroll processing while supporting employees and internal teams. This role offers a mix of payroll processing, reporting, employee support, and HR-related responsibilities in a multi-state environment.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll while ensuring compliance with applicable payroll and tax regulations.

  • The Payroll Specialist will maintain employee payroll records and support timekeeping processes in ADP Workforce Now.

  • Handle payroll adjustments, garnishments, tax documents, and other payroll-related transactions.

  • Prepare payroll reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end documentation.

  • The Payroll Specialist will support new hire onboarding and other payroll-related HR activities.

  • Respond to employee questions and resolve payroll issues in a timely and professional manner.

  • Assist with payroll audits, reporting, administrative projects, and process improvements.

  • The Payroll Specialist will maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and payroll information.

What We’re Looking For in a Payroll Specialist

  • 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably with multi-state payroll.

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a similar payroll system.

  • Working knowledge of payroll processes, tax requirements, and employment regulations.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
