Project Accountant
CFS is partnering with a growing construction organization to identify a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with project managers and operations teams in a fast-paced environment. The position is fully onsite in North Billerica and offers a salary range of $90,000-$105,000 plus a 3-8% bonus.
Project Accountant Responsibilities
- Manage project accounting activities from project setup through closeout
- Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, and profitability
- Prepare and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) reports
- Review subcontractor invoices, change orders, and billing documentation
- Process owner billings and support collections activities
- Reconcile project costs and ensure accurate job costing
- Partner with project managers to review financial performance and forecasts
- Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Maintain project documentation and reporting within Procore
- Support audits and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Project Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
- Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
- Proficiency with Procore and accounting software systems
- Strong understanding of construction billing, contracts, and change orders
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
