Key Responsibilities for the Property Accountant:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for assigned communities.
- Perform reconciliations, variance analysis, journal entry review, and financial reporting corrections.
- Partner with lenders, investors, syndicators, regulators, and internal stakeholders on reporting and inquiries.
- Review audits and tax returns for assigned properties.
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial planning activities.
- Support internal control initiatives and process improvement projects.
Qualifications for the Property Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant real estate accounting experience.
- Experience preparing journal entries and reviewing financial statements.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Knowledge of HUD, tax credit, public housing, affordable housing, or real estate accounting preferred.
