Salary: $78,000–$85,000
Schedule: Fully in-office for the first 6 months; after 6 months, strong performers may work from home 1 day/week.
About the Opportunity
A growing Indianapolis-based real estate organization is hiring two Property Accountants to join their accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an accountant looking to build a career in property accounting with tons of room for growth and advancement.
One of the two positions requires prior property management/accounting experience, while the other is open to candidates coming from a broader accounting background.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for a portfolio of assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and balance sheets
- Assist with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments
- Develop relationships with clients and serve as a professional point of contact
You will gradually build your property portfolio and will not be responsible for 15 properties immediately.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Property management/accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional communication and client/customer-facing skills
- Ability to manage relationships with multiple clients and entities
Preferred Experience
- Entrata or RealPage experience
- Audit experience or exposure to the audit process
- Public accounting or client-facing accounting experience
- Experience working with multiple entities, branches, or locations
