Senior Accountant Responsibilities

  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by Staff Accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • The Senior Accountant will manage intercompany transactions, including reconciliation, settlement, and documentation of balances across multiple entities
  • Lead the consolidated month-end close process, including preparation of elimination entries and consolidated financial reporting packages
  • The Senior Accountant will provide technical accounting guidance and oversee complex accounting activities
  • Support internal and external financial reporting requirements
  • The Senior Accountant will review and oversee the work of junior accounting team members, providing guidance and ensuring accuracy
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls

Qualifications of the Senior Accountant Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, consolidations, and intercompany accounting
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and experience with modern ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
  • Demonstrated ability to review and oversee the work of junior accounting professionals
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
