Senior Accountant
Location: Dobbs Ferry, NY (hybrid flexibility)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $40-45/hr
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team on a temporary-to-hire basis. This position will play a key role in supporting the accounting and finance functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and system-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and advanced Excel capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Prepare financial analyses and reporting to support organizational decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Serve as a backup resource for HR and payroll-related projects as needed.
- Support the organization’s ERP system transition from ADP to Sage Intacct.
- Create, maintain, and improve financial reports using advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, HR, and administrative teams to support operational objectives.
- Assist with process improvements and system enhancements related to accounting and financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit accounting is required.
- Proven experience with month-end close processes.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Experience working with enterprise accounting systems.
- Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
- Candidates without Sage Intacct experience must have worked with other robust accounting systems beyond QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or system conversions.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience.
