Sr. Payroll Analyst

We are seeking a Sr. Payroll Analyst to lead high-volume, multi-state payroll operations for a growing organization in the renewable energy space. This role is highly specialized, with a strong emphasis on certified payroll, prevailing wage compliance, and regulatory reporting.

This is a strong fit for someone who has deep, hands-on experience with certified payroll and is looking to operate in a high-impact environment with visibility across payroll, accounting, and operations.

Sr. Payroll Analyst – Key Responsibilities

• Own and review weekly, multi-state payroll for ~2,000 employees using Paylocity
• Lead certified payroll reporting in compliance with Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, PWA, and IRA requirements
• Review, validate, and submit certified payroll reports; investigate and resolve rejected filings
• Maintain and update wage classifications, fringe schedules, and apprentice tracking to ensure compliance
• Partner with Time & Labor and Operations to resolve discrepancies, job coding issues, and missing time
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and support detailed reporting for accounting and audit
• Support payroll tax setup, quarterly and annual filings, and external audit requests
• Upload and manage documentation across multiple compliance platforms, including Department of Labor systems
• Work with subcontractors to ensure adherence to certified payroll requirements
• Leverage advanced Excel to analyze payroll data and support compliance reporting
• Support year-end close and ongoing process improvement initiatives


Sr. Payroll Analyst – Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of payroll experience in high-volume, multi-state environments
• Direct, hands-on experience with certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance (Davis-Bacon required)
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, wage classifications, and regulatory requirements
• Experience supporting payroll tax filings, audits, and reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze complex data sets
• Experience in construction, field services, or project-based environments strongly preferred
• Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll systems preferred
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
