Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all payroll cycles
- Oversee prevailing wage payroll administration, ensuring strict adherence to federal, state, and local requirements
- Supervise payroll staff, including training, workflow management, and performance oversight
- Maintain and improve payroll systems, processes, and internal controls to support scalability and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations, including tax filings, deductions, garnishments, and wage and hour laws
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring data integrity
- Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to support payroll strategy, reporting, and continuous process improvement
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of payroll experience with prior leadership or supervisory responsibility in a multi-state environment
- Strong, hands-on expertise in prevailing wage payroll is required, including processing, compliance, and reporting
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or similarly complex payroll environments strongly preferred
- Proven ability to oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of all payroll transactions
- Solid understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, deductions, and multi-jurisdiction compliance requirements
- Experience supervising or mentoring payroll staff and supporting day-to-day operational workflow
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to identify and support system/process improvements
